RICHMOND, BC. On Wednesday evening I went to the Richmond Chamber of Commerce Business After 5, hosted by Foreseeson Technology at 4460 Jacombs Road. It was a full room of Richmond business owners and operators, and a chance to see the inside of a company that has been operating in Richmond for over 20 years.
Who Foreseeson is
Foreseeson Technology is a Richmond company that does several things under one roof: electronics manufacturing, IT security distribution, electric vehicle charging equipment, and software platforms. They are also known for their EV charging work with municipalities and corporations, and the ChargePoint partner display in the room made that side of the business hard to miss. The evening included a tour of the facility and a chance to learn more about the company in a relaxed setting.
Why I go to these
I focus exclusively on industrial sales and leasing, and Richmond is one of the markets I track most closely. The people at a Chamber event are the companies that occupy Richmond's industrial buildings: manufacturers, distributors, contractors and service businesses that need warehouse floor, loading and power, and a reasonable commute for their staff. Hearing how they are growing, what they are building, and where they are running out of room is more useful to me than any listing report.
Foreseeson is a good example of the type of occupier that defines north Richmond. Jacombs Road sits in north Richmond's industrial area near Bridgeport Road and the Knight Street Bridge, and a business that combines manufacturing, distribution and an office team in one location is exactly the kind of user that area was built for. When I am working with a client on a Richmond requirement, these are the buildings and the neighbours they will be comparing against.
